China's Quest

One might think that this article is perfectly late but I would say it's perfectly on time.

From the last 15 years China was somehow trying to show show its presence to the world let it be Economically, Diplomatically or even Militarily.
So let's go a few months back, in December 2018, China celebrated its 40th year of reform. What type of reform one might ask. Basically, 40 years ago Chinese economy opened up to the rest of the world which eventually turned China into a global powerhouse and as of now it is second in GDP only to The US.

Let's understand this with respect to time.

In December of 1978, China's 'Transformative reform' was launched which made China a more Western friendly market economy.
CHINA'S GROWTH CHART FROM 1978 TO 2018

While the GDP numbers were constantly skyrocketing, the band between rich and poor kept increasing and believe it or not after all these 'reforms' you might still find it hard to do business in China due to Bureaucracy government challenges, and Very Tough Competition.

Tell me more!

Most of the stuff lies in China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). China is building Rail Road networks across all of the Asia and also in Few parts of Europe. Take a look at this Map

BELT AND ROAD INITIATIVE PROGRESS (2018)

That red network is what they call the Silk Road Initiative. The other one is what they call it 'Maritime Silkroad' which you might also know as 'String of Pearls'.
BRI also includes various Industrial park Initiatives, Oil refineries, Mines, Power plants, etc.
There's actually a railroad project that will connect China to London!
From sea ports in Sri Lanka two highways in Pakistan rail network in Kazakhstan and what not, China's BRI touches approximately 60% of the world's population and bounds three continents with it.

How long will these things survive after being 'Made by China'?

Just to give you an insight of China's scientific reach, China is the only nation which landed a rover on the far (usually called unseen) side of the moon, grew Cotton on Moon, and genetically modified two human embryos.
Their research and Interest aren't only limited to space but also genomics, Quantum Communication, Materials, basically everything else.

Chinese government is already using artificial intelligence to track down its own citizens.

They watch what you buy, where you go, how do you look like, all the time! It is actually called Real Time Facial Recognition in technical terms.

To be continued...
Stay tuned for 2nd part.
