India is world's largest Democracy and we are proud of it. But maintaining Democracy is a tiring and difficult task.
Maintaining Democracy Comes at a cost. And In case of India, it's Huge!
On the basis of a report from Election Commission we came to know that more than 3870 Crore Rupees were spent in General Elections of year 2014. And this amount doesn't account money spent on security, transport, and other expenses.
A report by New Delhi based Centre for media Studies estimated that in 2019 Genral Elections, all Political Parties of India spent a hefty 50,000 Crore Rupees!
Money isn't the only thing, Time is also consumed in all this.
In a nutshell, we keep pressing buttons and electing our leaders and time keeps flying.
One Nation One Election will end this race. People can elect their leaders and leaders can focus on Development and Not on Upcoming Elections.
In fact, First ever Election in a Democratic India was of same concept. Things were going fine from 1952 to 1967. But then a coalition broke up demanding another Election. But we all know coalitions break, and that's why Elections have to be reorganized creating a nexus of Elections.

So how can we ensure same thing won't happen again?
Central Government is trying to create a mechanism which will ensure that even if a coalition government breaks, the Assembly won't dissolve. Electrions will be held only after after 5 years. This definitely requires The Indian Constitution to be Ammended, but that's also not a big issue since current NDA government already have majority in Lok Sabha.
However, to do the same in Rajya Sabha, they'll need help of other Political parties most of whom are Regional Political Parties.
